Last week, after years of working on writing and completing the book, months of planning the release event, and weeks of preparing the baked goods and food for the party, the day finally came!
Together with my husband, kids, and the party planner and kitchen assistant/caterer, we pulled together an amazing party. The food was fantastic, every item was from a recipe in the book and all of it was prepared by me. The tables were set up beautifully, the music soft in the background. And it was so much fun! We raffled off two prizes filled with items that are used in my cookbook. I did two separate cooking demos, something I have never done in front of a crowd before, and then everyone got to taste what I made. And anyone who wanted a signed copy of the book got one.
Now, my book is finally available for purchase on my website, on Amazon, and even in some local Baltimore bookstores. The next part of this book journey will be to work on getting it placed and available in more stores around the country and getting the word out that it is an terrific and fun cookbook that everyone will enjoy.
But that initial release party was an outstanding way to both celebrate the completion of the book and to launch it. I was fortunate to have family and friends come out to support me, along with members of my synagogue and of the local homeschooling group. It was a day and party I will not soon forget. What an amazing cookbook release party!
