Happy 4th of July, or Independence Day, if you prefer that! It is a perfect day to break out the grill and make some incredibly patriotic food! I am talking about all of the classics: burgers, hot dogs, corn and more! But don't make boring burgers. Make these Hickory Burgers instead. You'll be glad you did!
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1/4 c hickory and brown sugar barbecue sauce
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 egg, beaten
5 garlic flatbreads, crushed
Hickory mayo:
1/2 c mayonnaise
1/2 c hickory and brown sugar barbecue sauce
Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients. Divide evenly into 8 balls. Shape into patties and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes ( this will help prevent the burger from falling apart on the grill). Bake at 400 degrees in the oven or cook on the grill. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and barbecue sauce until smooth. Serve with all of your favorite burger fixings, including the delicious mayo.
